United States is the sole power that maintain a large and operative fleet of strategic bombers. The B-1 was the second in age between the ancient but imprescindible B-52 and the new and dubious B-2. All were originated to counterattack the soviet menace, and all are now implicated in the war against the axis of evil, mainly over muslim countries.

The B-1 nickname was obviosuly a remembrance of the main handweapon of the Light Brigade at Balaclava, in the Crimean War. The low visibility livery of the lancer bomber, however, is far from the bright coloured uniform of the lancers of XIX century and reflect the obession for stealthness that dominates the U.S. military doctrine today.
